Preparing themselves for the upcoming ITA Regional Championships, the ETSU women’s tennis team powered itself to a perfect record Sunday, winning all eight contests in the final day of the Hokie Fall Invitational at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center.”Today every girl played great,” said assistant coach Travis Sandlant. “A number of our players played against some really good competition this weekend and I’m so proud of each of them in the effort they gave and how hard they played throughout this entire event.”
As she did Saturday, sophomore Karina Kedzo, continued her winning ways as the 2009 Atlantic Sun Conference second-team member earned her second win of the weekend over Radford’s Petra Dajevic, 6-3, 6-2.

Rounding out the singles scores was fellow ETSU newcomer Kelby Martson. The local East Tennessee native dropped Elon’s Sally Wilkey, 6-0,6-0.
“I thought the girls’ confidence was where it needed to be today,” said Sandlant. “With our performances over the last three days, I believe our team is building that confidence it needs to compete at regionals.”
ETSU also picked up two doubles wins on the day as both the Lady Buc teams of Holtzhausen and Diana Navrostskaya, in addition to the duo of Cameron and Voinea earned consolation bracket championships.
