Students in the Roan Scholars Leadership Program at ETSU are conducting a book drive to benefit the Hancock County Public Library.New or “gently used” books, as well as monetary donations, can be dropped off at the ETSU Welcome Center, located in the D.P. Culp University Center, or during the ETSU Homecoming men’s basketball game against Appalachian State University on Saturday, Nov. 14, at 4 p.m., in Memorial Center (the Mini-Dome). The drive will conclude with the basketball game.
The Roan Scholars became interested in the people and history of Hancock County during a previous project and decided to organize a book drive as their senior capstone endeavor. They will travel to Sneedville on Nov. 20 to deliver their donations to Mayor Greg Marion and librarian Lois Rosenbalm.
