The third annual ETSU Habitat build is underway. With the assistance of faculty, staff, students and the community, the house, near campus at 2194 Wyndale Road, will become the home of Angela Calhoun and her son Terry sometime in early December.

To aid in funding the project, the ETSU Habitat committee instituted dual annual giving competitions last fall among the university’s colleges and the university’s students.

For the 2008 build, the College of Education received the Paul E. Stanton Jr. Award and the ETSU Wesley Foundation claimed the Wyeth Lawson award for student groups.

Two engraved plagues were awarded, which each group retained for one year.

The second annual competition is now underway for these awards.

Checks for tax-deductible gifts may be mailed to Holston Habitat for Humanity, PO Box 5265, Kingsport, TN 37663 and marked for the ETSU Build with the name of the college or student organization you wish to assist in the award competitions or check with your college office or student organization to discover the person responsible for receiving your donation.

To be considered for the college or student organization awards, checks must be received before the dedication of the ETSU Habitat home, which is tentatively expected to be Dec. 1, 2009.

For additional information on giving or on the awards, please contact Jerry Everley at 929-2121 or Jeff Anderson at 439-4242.
