ETSU’s Track and Field team will compete in the Atlantic Sun Conference Championship this Friday and Saturday. Head coach David E. Walker will bring 15 women and 29 men to the ETSU/MSHA Athletic Center.
These athletes will be competing to be the best talent in the conference.
The senior runner, Duronal Monal will go into the Championship with plenty of momentum on his side. Monal received his second Atlantic-Sun Athlete of the Week honor just yesterday due to his 55-meter dash title at the Mountaineer Indoor Open in North Carolina.
He also holds the league record for the 60-meter dash and the 200-meter dash this season.
Duronal will race Friday in the 60-, 200- and 400-meter dash.
Junior Jasmine Ingram will be another student to keep an eye on this weekend. Ingram has had much recent success on the track.
She came in second place in the 300-meter race in South Carolina a couple weeks ago.
Ingram followed her success with a first-place finish in the 400-meter in Arkansas. She will compete in the 400-meter dash and also the 4×400 meter relay.
Jordan Briggs, Max Lee, Matt Hill, Les Gilbert, and Nic Chernikow will all be competing in the Men’s Heptathalon – a seven-event contest that challenges versatility and endurance.
