The Flashbulb Fires, a group of fresh-faced independent rockers based out of Denver will perform this Tuesday, March 2, at Johnson City’s Hideaway, 235 E. Main St., starting at 7 p.m. On their debut album “Glory,” Flashbulb Fires displays some musical chops that are guaranteed to ignite a flame that won’t be easily extinguished. They’ve picked up some serious name recognition, having launched a tour that takes them all across the country, and in Tuesday’s performance they’ll share the stage with “Feel Good Hit of the Year” and “Old Salute.” Admission is $6.
The group is comprised of four members, Patrick McGuire on acoustic guitar and lead vocals; Michael James on electric guitar and vocals; Tyler Reschke on bass and vocals; and Chris Sturniolo on drums and vocals. The group is sure to bring a new sound to Johnson City’s Hideaway. Flashbulb Fires presents a relaxed vibe to the rock genre, with a fusion of musical flair that creates a melting pot of sound. From the driving, original beats, to the soothing vocals, and meaningful lyrics, the group brings a host of brand new musical flavors to the scene.
Their musical flair has been inspired by a list of influences as diverse as their voices, from Ella Fitzgerald, to Death Cab, Nirvana, Pedro the Lion, Grizzly Bear, Radiohead and Broken Social Scene.
With such a host of incredible groups influencing their style, it should come as no surprise that the resulting sound is an eclectic combination of arresting melodies.
