The ETSU men’s basketball team traveled to Macon, Ga., yesterday to play in the Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament. The Bucs are the fifth seed in the tournament and will play the fourth-seeded Campbell Camels at 2:30 p.m. today inside the University Center located on the campus of Mercer University.The Camels and the Bucs split the two previous meetings this year, with each team winning on their home court.

The Bucs won inside the MSHA/ETSU Athletic complex on Jan. 27, 72-57. Campbell beat ETSU 79-57 on Feb. 19.

Junior forward Tommy Hubbard leads the Bucs in scoring with 13.8 points and in rebounding with 8.4 per game. Earlier this week he was named to the All-Atlantic Sun second team; he was the only Buccaneer to receive any postseason awards.

The Camels will be led by senior forward Jonathan Rodriguez, who averages 17.3 per game and was a unanimous selection to the All-Atlantic Sun first team.

ETSU comes in as the defending tournament champions. They are on a three-game winning streak. This is the Bucs’ fourth three-game winning streak of the year, but they have never been able to capture the fourth victory.

The Bucs will have to win three games in three days in order to capture this years A-SUN tournament championship.

The championship game will be played on Saturday at 6 p.m. on ESPN2.
