The annual “Take Back the Night” 5K road race and walk will be held at East Tennessee State University on Saturday, March 27.Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. outside Roy S. Nicks Hall near the Pedestrian Mall on the ETSU campus, and the starting time is 8:30 a.m.
This State of Franklin Track Club-certified race is part of an initiative to raise awareness and stop violence against women and children.
All proceeds will benefit programs that support survivors of sexual violence, including the SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners) Program at Johnson City Medical Center.
Last year, 300 runners participated, and organizers estimate that over 350 will take part in the race this year. The course runs through the historic Tree Streets neighborhood and the ETSU campus.
