The ETSU softball team wraps up its six-game road swing on Wednesday evening when the Lady Bucs take on Appalachian State. First pitch of the doubleheader is slated for 4 p.m. at Sywassink/Lloyd Family Stadium. ETSU (10-20, 1-3 A-Sun) is coming off a split over Belmont on Saturday afternoon in Nashville.

After pounding out 11 hits and scoring 11 runs in the five-inning, nine-run victory over the Bruins in game one, Belmont blanked the Lady Bucs, 5-0, in the nightcap.

Freshman standout Lucy Schneider (Dade City, Fla.) has carried the load as of late for the Lady Bucs – hitting safely in seven of her last 10 games – going 12-for-34 (.353) with two doubles, two home runs and six runs scored.

Meanwhile, senior shortstop Cheniece Cason (Moreno Valley, Calif.) still leads the club in hitting (.299) and has recorded at least one hit in 23 of her 30 games this season.

Appalachian State (15-10, 4-4 SoCon) concludes its six-game homestand on Wednesday, with the Mountaineers going 3-1 in those first four games. Hayley Grabner, a freshman outfielder, currently leads the Mountaineers in hitting (.360), while fellow freshman Allie Cashion is posting a team-high six doubles, 21 RBI and is tied for the team lead with four home runs.

In the circle, sophomore right-hander Caitlin Wainwright is 8-3 with a 1.16 ERA (12 ER/72.2 IP) and 63 strikeouts.
