On Monday, April 12, East Tennessee State University held the annual ETSU Summit Awards.The awards are an annual major event recognizing students, student organizations, faculty and staff for their contributions to campus programming and student life.
Students elected into the Student Leader Hall of Fame included McKayla B. Johnson, Corrina Honeycutt, Katie Schiermeyer and Andrew Rose.
Lacey Belote, Alyssa Shedlarski, Travis Clark, Sabrina Hurlock, Natasha Snyder and Mary Williams received Unsung Hero Awards and Jose Velasco was awarded the Jan Phillips Mentor Award.
The College of Business and Technology’s Collegiate Merchandising Association received the Outstanding Service Program award for The Mitten Tree Project. They also received the Program of the Year award for the project.
The George W. Kelly Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists received the award for Most Outstanding Educational Program for their forum on health care reform.
Buctainment’s Justin Kredible event won the award for Outstanding Social Program while the Habitat for Humanity received Most Improved Student Organization.
Yevgeniya Stupak, a member of the Lady Bucs tennis team, received the 2009-10 Bucaneer Athlete Leadership Award.
The Distinguished Service Award for Housing and Residence Life was given to Ashley Fee and Brad McDonald.
Jennifer Rice received the NET Above and Beyond Award while Brian Bowman received the Student Government Leadership Award.
The Student Government Association Awards included Associate Justice of the Year Dalton Collins, Senator of the Year Valisa Griffin and Cabinet Member of the Year Chad Hall.
