Symphony of the Mountains will honor local heroes Carolyn Gudger, Sullivan Central and Sullivan County Sheriff’s Department with the concert “A Hero’s Tale,” Saturday, October 2nd, at 8 p.m. at Toy F. Reid Employee Center in Kingsport.An August 30th incident involving a gunman at Sullivan Central High School compelled Resource Officer Carolyn Gudger to take immediate action to protect students and faculty.
Officer Gudger, along with staff members, Sullivan County Sheriff Officer Sam Matney and Lieutenant Steve Williams, protected the Central community from harm.
Amelia Harris, Symphony Board of Directors President, will recognize this inspirational group at Saturday’s Beethoven performance.
