For the second time this season, senior Guilherme Reis (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) was named the Atlantic Sun Defensive Player of the Week as the Brazilian helped propel the Bucs to a 2-0 start in A-Sun play, the conference office announced on Monday.Reis had the game-winner against Campbell last Thursday as he bent a free kick from well outside the 18-yard box past the Camel’s Ryan Amon in the 29th minute. The senior anchored a back line for the Bucs that went on to shutout Campbell in the conference opener.

In the Mercer contest, Reis again stepped up and helped even the contest as sophomore Alesi Osorio (Austin, Texas) knocked in the rebound from a Reis free kick in the second half.

Reis and the ETSU defense stepped up late in the second half as the Buccaneers did not allow a shot in the final 29 minutes limiting the Bears to only five shots in the contest.

On the season, Reis has two goal, three assists and seven points, and has guided an ETSU defense that limited its opponents to a conference best 8.3 shots per game.

ETSU is back in action this weekend as the Bucs head to Florida to face Stetson and Florida Gulf Coast.
