Halloween is Sunday, but the ETSU men’s soccer team is hoping to get its treat a day earlier. Saturday at 6 p.m. the Bucs will put their undefeated home record up against the No. 4-ranked team in the country, the University of North Carolina Tar Heels.

Hosted at Summers-Taylor Stadium, the men’s soccer team is asking fans to “Pack the Pitch.” ETSU is hoping to break the attendance record for Atlantic Sun single-game home attendance, which is 2,007 people.

Saturday’s game will also be a blackout as black “Pack the Pitch” T-shirts will be handed out to the first 500 fans. Attendees are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes for the costume contest to be held at halftime.

ETSU took the Tar Heels to overtime last year in Chapel Hill, losing to the then second-ranked team 2-1. This season the Bucs have the home field advantage.

The team is having the best season in school history with a record of 11-4-0. The program, only in its third year, is currently ranked 40th in the RPI.

ETSU is one of only 14 teams in the nation with 11 or more wins, including teams like No. 1 Akron, No. 3 Maryland, and their opponents on Saturday, No. 4 UNC.

The Bucs outscored their opponents at home 15-3 during this year’s seven-game home winning streak. They have outscored their opponents, 20-15.

David Geno, Colin Pugh, Aaron Schoenfeld, and Guilherme Reis all have three goals. They also have two team members with two goals.

This will be the Bucs’ final home game of the season. They will end the season at Appalachian State on Nov. 2, and then go into the Atlantic Sun Tournament. ETSU has already earned a spot in the tournament, but the seeding has not yet been decided.
