Looking for a last minute costume? Did Wal-Mart not have what you were looking for? Then perhaps you need to check out Johnson City’s Halloween Express.Halloween Express, which is only open during the Halloween season, offers a multitude of costumes and accessories to choose from.
If you can conjure it up in your mind, there is a high chance the store will have what you are looking for.
If you are adventuring out with a group of college friends, group theme costumes are a must.
Some ideas that may be of interest are “Toy Story” characters (yes, they are in adult sizes as well), the Scooby Doo gang, and for the daring group of friends, “The Rocky Horror Picture Show.”
Perhaps you and your significant other are going to a local Halloween party.
Some possibilities for couples’ costumes are the Ghostly Lady and Gentleman, the Zombie Prom King and Queen, or a matching couple from a decade. Danny and Sandy from “Grease” is always a hit with a crowd.
Of course, there are always the classic Halloween costumes. Vampires are always in season, and movie serial killers are sure to frighten at least one weak person.
Of course, Halloween Express takes the serial killer costume to an entire new level, especially with their collection of masks.
If you are a diehard shopper for your costume, you can expect to pay about $50 for a quality, movie-like mask.
Some of the more expensive ones include the predator alien hybrid, Leatherface and the “Saw” Pig head mask.
The local Halloween Express primarily offers costumes and accessories, but it does sell some decorations.
However, they do not offer near as many decorations as they do online.
If you are an aspiring decorator or want to someday design your own haunted house, you may want to start saving up your scholarship refund.
Some decorations for the true Halloween fan are extremely expensive.
For the price of $9,974.79, you can scare visitors with a 5-foot-long attack alligator that is powered by an air compressor.
Videos are available online that are previews of the animatronic decorations, but, surprisingly, some are out of stock.
If you still can’t find what you’re looking for, try other local Halloween stores to fit your holiday needs such as Spirit Halloween on N. Roan St. and Celebrate Studios on the Bristol Highway.
