Roslyn Robinson has assumed the roles of ETSU Health’s first chief nursing officer and associate dean of practice and community partnerships in the ETSU college of nursing.

“My career in nursing was interesting because ever since I was a small child, I always knew I would be in the medical field,” said Robinson. “I love helping people and love seeing folks become healthier and more focused, and medical knowledge gives you the opportunity to work with and to do that.”

Robinson began her nursing career while working at a plasma collection facility during her undergraduate program.

The facility was bought by a pharmaceutical company, and Robinson held various positions of nurse, nursing supervisor, manager and regional director from 1985 through 2008.

While at the pharmaceutical company, she received her master’s degree in business administration.

“Numerous relocations led me to resign, knowing I wanted to remain in Tennessee,” said Robinson.

After she left the company, she worked at Covenant Health Systems in business case management for seven years. During this time, she decided to get her doctorate in business administration.

She joined ETSU in 2015 as executive director of ETSU’s University Health Center and school-based clinics. In January 2019, she became an assistant dean in the College of Nursing.

Robinson said she is very honored to receive her new position as CNO and is ready to get to work.

“I’m looking forward to working with all of the leaders, establishing policies across all those clinical sites and just being the primary spokesperson for all the nursing staff and the facilities and just really looking at keeping us at the forefront of being competitive in the area,” said Robinson.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, ETSU Health is focusing on protecting employees and patients, controlling the spread of infection and making sure everyone has access to testing.
