For the second time in just over a month, the ETSU’s men’s basketball team has entered a 14-day quarantine following positive COVID-19 tests within the organization.

The announcement came from head coach Jason Shay on Oct. 26 when he informed WJHL that several members of the men’s basketball program have tested positive for COVID-19.

“We’re following public health guidelines and university guidelines,” coach Shay told the Johnson City Press on Monday.

The exact number of players and staff that have tested positive for COVID-19 within the program is unknown.

While it is unclear how long the Bucs have been under quarantine, the team will be unable to participate in practices until the 14-day duration is complete.

The Bucs are scheduled to open their season on Nov. 25 in the Gulf Coast Showcase, located in Fort Myers, Florida. They are scheduled to play 27 games for the 2020-2021 season.
