In an email to students, faculty and staff Monday, ETSU announced that there will be five separate, in-person commencement ceremonies May 7-9.
According to the email, signed by ETSU President Brian Noland and Senior Vice President for Academics and Interim Provost Wilsie Bishop, each graduate will receive four guest tickets, and all events will be held in the ETSU Mini-Dome.
This announcement comes after the classes of 2020 and 2021 were asked to complete a survey in February to RSVP to participate in an in-person graduation ceremony.
“We greatly appreciate those who took the time to complete the survey sent to you a few weeks ago,” the email said. “The health and well-being of everyone who will gather for the celebration is our highest priority.”
On May 7, a 10 a.m. ceremony will be held for May and December class of 2020 graduates, and a 3 p.m. ceremony will be held for the class of 2021 College of Arts and Sciences.
On May 8, a 10 a.m. ceremony will be held for the class of 2021 Clemmer College and College of Public Health, and a 3 p.m. ceremony will be held for the class of 2021 College of Clinical and Rehabilitative Health Sciences and College of Nursing.
A 1 p.m. ceremony will be held May 9 for the class of 2021 College of Business and Technology, Cross-Disciplinary Studies, Pharmacy Studies, Biomedical Sciences and Global Sport Leadership.
Ceremonies for the Quillen College of Medicine and Gatton College of Pharmacy will be held May 6, with more information still to come.
For those unable to attend in-person, all ceremonies will be livestreamed on ETSU’s Facebook, YouTube and Graduating Class of 2021 website. According to the website, seating in the Dome will be first come, first serve in groups of four.
Registration and guest ticket information will be provided to graduates in the coming weeks.
“On behalf of the entire faculty and staff, I want to congratulate you on achieving this transformative milestone,” the email said. “You are – and forever will be – a beloved member of the ETSU family. I look forward to seeing you cross the stage in May.”
