If you’re ever feeling stressed, overwhelmed or even just want to try something new, maybe looking into a few yoga classes offered on campus could help.

Halie Darby, one of the yoga instructors, said, “We are currently offering a wide variety of yoga classes, including Yoga 101, Sunrise Yoga, Vigorous Vinyasa, De-Stress Yoga and more.”

After attending a sunset yoga session, even though I had never in my life done yoga before, I definitely wanted to attend another. Being able to calmly stretch, breathe and relax outside with a bunch of friends was thoroughly relaxing

Darby said, “The benefits of attending yoga include stress management, relaxation, improved sleep and increased balance and flexibility… Yoga is a perfect way to practice self-care and nurture one’s mind and body. Participating in yoga regularly can assist students in investing in their well-being and provide them with tools to avoid being overwhelmed due to the demands of school.”

Darby wanted to notify readers of other options offered at the CPA.

“Alongside our yoga offerings, all group fitness classes at the CPA are free for students, faculty/staff and CPA members to attend. Participating in regular physical activity provides many health and wellness benefits.”

If interested, sessions are held at the Basler Center for Physical Activity in either a main group fitness setting or martial arts studio. If you think yoga could be beneficial for you, give it a try.
