Nov. 1-15, the Rehabilitative Health Sciences Club (RHS) will be collecting donations as part of a hygiene drive.

“This is the second event like this, and we are so excited to hold this event again,” said Jacy Sims, club president. “As a student organization, our main goal is to educate students about rehabilitative health sciences, differing disabilities and giving back to our community.”

RHS is asking for people to donate various hygiene products to be given to Bucky’s Food Pantry. However, if enough products are donated, RHS will also be reaching out to donate to a local shelter.

Donation boxes have been set up in Hutcheson Hall on the third and fourth floors. Items such as soap, shampoo, conditioner, toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss, hair care, skincare and more are needed.

“This is our second year on campus, and [we] have been trying to get involved on campus and give back to our community. That is why we are doing the hygiene drive,” said Sims.

Future events for RHS include participation in the Knoxville remote area medical event and Disability Awareness day in March.
