Jonathan Roberts worked for the East Tennessean from 2018 to 2019. He served as a general assignment reporter during his duration with the publication.

Roberts graduated in 2020 from ETSU and received a bachelor’s degree in media and communication with a focus in journalism.

He currently works as reporter and photojournalist for the Johnson City Press, covering Johnson City and Jonesborough government and health care. He was offered the position after his summer internship in 2019 and has remained there ever since.

“I enjoy talking to and meeting new people, and keeping people informed about things happening in the community,” said Roberts. “I learned a lot about journalism during my time with the ET, and it really helped me hone my interviewing skills and get comfortable doing this job.”

Roberts covered topics ranging from Donald Trump’s visit to Johnson City in 2018, ETSU Board of Trustees meetings and the ETSU Police chief resignation. To see more of his recent work, visit .johnsoncitypress.com/users/profile/jonathan%20roberts/.
