On April 11, Buctainment hosted a second Vision Board Night in the D.P. Culp Student Center.

If you don’t know what a vision board is, you’re not alone, many people have never heard of them before. Vision boards have recently become popular, it’s a personalized board that you can decorate and personalize to whatever your goals, desires, and wishes are for the coming year.

Bucatainment provided students with the supplies needed such as glitter, sequins, scrapbook paper, stickers. Throughout the night students were stopped by the fun music coming from The Cave and were drawn in to participate.

Melissa Orozco, Buctainment collaboration chair, and a third year student here at ETSU, helped host the event. Orozco was also a part of Buctainment for a year before she held any positions.

“We’ve had this event in the past and last time we hosted it, students seemed to really enjoy it,” said Orozco. “We wanted to bring it back for the students again before this semester is over and students get out for summer.”

Vision boards are not only something you create, but it’s something others can make while creating connections with new friends. They are a visual way people can see their goals and cut out pictures and decorate their board to be excited about what is to come.

“I like that people can be super creative and every single vision board is different and personalized to each student,” Orozco said. “All students were welcome and I loved seeing everyone express themselves.”

Based on the participation, Buctainment hopes to bring the event back again in the future with potential partner organizations.

“Bringing these fun and on campus events is one of my favorite parts of being a part of Buctainment, it’s something that relaxes students and gets their minds off of school related things for a little while,” concluded Orozco. “Students can walk over on campus and participate in a fun and free activity. It’s simple but can accomplish a lot.”

The next Buctainment event will be outdoor lawn games in University Commons on April 14. For more information, visit etsu.edu/students/sao/organizations/buctainment.php.
