The ETSU women’s golf team finished seventh at the Reynolds Lake Oconee Invitational in Eatonton, Georgia.

Freshman Brianna Castaldi (Port Saint Lucie, Fla.) had a strong start, finishing the round tied for sixth place at 1-over-par 73. Despite playing her final seven holes at three-over, she managed to stay competitive and sits just three shots off the lead.

The team, represented by Castaldi along with junior Sophie Bert (Deurle, Belgium), senior Grace Chin (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia), and senior Amber Thornton (Canberra, Australia), recorded a combined score of 16-over-par 304, placing them in sixth position after the opening round.

Delaware’s Alisa Khokholva leads the individual standings with a score of 2-under 70, closely followed by Makenzie Cooper from Chattanooga. Mercer leads the team standings at 6-over-par 294, with Delaware and Chattanooga in close pursuit.

On Saturday, the ETSU women’s golf team competed in the second round of the Reynolds Lake Oconee Invitational. Brianna Castaldi continued to lead the team; finishing tied for 12th place at 6-over-par 150 after posting a 5-over 77 in the second round. Despite Castaldi’s performance, the team dropped three spots to ninth place overall, with a combined score of 38-over-par 614.

On Sunday, the Lady Bucs golf team placed seventh out of 14 teams in the tournament. Brianna Castaldi and Sophie Bert led the team, Castaldi finishing tied for 23rd and Bert finishing tied for 27th. The team posted a three-day tournament score of 49-over- par 913.  The tournament was won by Mercer, who led wire-to-wire and finished at 1-under- par 863. Mercer’s Mikayla Dubnik earned medalist honors with a score of 4-under-par 212.

The Lady Bucs are back in action March 4 when ETSU heads to Jacksonville, Florida.
