With the holiday season underway, Food City Speedway in Lights offers an opportunity to see beautiful lights and make a difference in the lives of children in the region.

The 29th anniversary of Food City Speedway in Lights began Friday, Nov. 29, and will be running until Saturday, Jan. 3, from 6-10 p.m. each night at the Bristol Motor Speedway and Dragway.

While the holiday light show began in 1997 with a route just a mile and a half long, it has expanded to more than four miles and now includes more than three million lights. The popular Christmas Village will also be located in the infield for guests to visit.

Speedway in Lights serves both as a holiday tradition for the Tri-Cities and as an annual fundraiser event for the Bristol Chapter of the Speedway Children’s Charities.

Taking place as one year shifts into the next, Speedway in Lights helps provide a strong foundation for SCC’s upcoming year.

SCC provides funding to children’s nonprofits throughout the region, including 18 counties in northeast Tennessee and southwest Virginia.

“Our vision is that every child has the same opportunities no matter what obstacle they are facing,” reads SCC’s website.

In 2024, SCC helped more than 64,000 children through its funding of 83 nonprofit organizations.

Vehicle passes for Speedway in Lights are available for purchase online at Bristol Motor Speedway’s website. Certain nights have a limited number of Fast Lane tickets available, providing guests with quick access to the line on their busiest nights.
