The ETSU men’s golf team finished in fifth place Sunday at the Carpet Capital Classic in Dalton, Ga.
Despite cold and windy conditions, the 20th-ranked Bucs shot the best round of the competing fifteen teams.
The Bucs fired a combined 299, two shots better than seventh ranked Clemson, Wake Forest and Auburn.
Senior Chris Wisler finished in a 1-over-par tie with 25th-ranked David Sanchez of North Carolina State, Nick Gilliam of Florida and Cortland Lowe of Wake Forest.
In tie for 16th, sophomore Thomas Lee shot a 4-over-par along with Chris Mundorf of N.C. State.
Another Buc that shot four-over-par, senior Pat Beste, finished in a three way tie for 28th with Johan Kok of South Carolina and Gregg Jones of Clemson.
Adam Riddering and Anders Hofvander rounded out the Bucs tournament at 31st and 62nd, respectively.
The Bucs finished 14 shots behind Georgia Tech with an overall score of 884.
The men’s golf team travels to Durham, N.C., to play in the Duke Classic on Sunday and Monday.
