Pianist Dr. Arthur Greene will be the featured performer in the inaugural recital of the new Powell Piano Series this Friday at 7:30 p.m. in Mathes Hall.
This series recognizes and honors Jim and Sandy Powell for their support of the ETSU Department of Music. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for senior citizens and students with valid ID.
During his recital, Greene will perform works by Beethoven, Scriabin and Chopin.
A professor of piano at the University of Michigan who holds degrees from Yale, Juilliard and the State University of New York at Stony Brook, Greene has received accolades in concert halls and competitions throughout the world. He earned gold medals in the Gina Bachauer and William Kapell international piano competitions and was a top laureate at the Busoni International Competition.
