To Write Love On Her Arms ETSU Chapter hosted a 12-hour benefit concert Saturday, Nov. 20 to raise funds for the upcoming spring semester. The concert, held at the Acoustic Coffeehouse Next Door, brought in fans of all ages with a children’s center, family-friendly set, and energy-drink chugging contests.

One of the bands included in the set list was ETSU psychology professor Dr. Chris Dula (also known by Kryss Dula, his stage name), who has played at the Acoustic Coffeehouse many times.

Dula also participated in the energy drink-chugging contest and beat five other contestants for first place by chugging both drinks simultaneously.

While the first seven hours of the concert were family-friendly, all-age bands, the tempo kicked up in the second half of the night with harder bands such as Always in August and Standing at the Summit.

Cheyna Haas, president of TWLOHA ETSU, said, “You could definitely feel the energy in that place. Everyone was dancing or moshing, still no one was getting hurt. We were all just out to have the time of our lives supporting what we believe in.”

The proceeds generated from the concert will be used to fund a high-school program to encourage equality and community, invest in local treatment and recovery programs, and to fund next semester’s benefit concert. For more information visit twlohaetsu.weebly.com.
