The Office of Multicultural Affairs is promoting several events around campus during the second half of February.In conjunction with the celebration of Black History there will be an exhibit about Malcolm X on Thursday, Feb. 17. The Black History 101 Museum will be in the Ballroom of the Culp Center. The exhibit, which will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., will celebrate influential leaders who left a great impression on African-American culture.

Professor Griff from Public Enemy will provide a lecture on Malcolm X at 4 p.m. in conjunction with the museum.

The exhibit will display original items from Malcolm X and others whom he influenced.

More than 20 different cultures and ethnicities will be represented this Saturday, Feb. 19 at the Fusion: East Meets West Multicultural Showcase.

At this event, students will model many different styles of clothing representing several different countries.

This event will also use food, music, poetry and dancing to represent the various cultures and ethnicities. It will take place in the Culp Center Ballroom at 7 p.m.

All students are also welcomed to join Dance: An Evening of Elegance.

This event will be held Saturday, Feb. 26 in the Culp Center Ballroom from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.

The dance is an annual semi-formal event.

Students are encouraged to dress up and invite other guests to enjoy an evening of dancing, fun and refreshments.

Those in attendance are also welcome to bring cameras and take pictures to remember the evening.

The ETSU Gospel Choir will have a Spring concert performance on Sunday, Feb. 27 in the Culp Center Auditorium at 3:30 p.m.

Several choirs from the region have been invited to perform during the event as well.

The ETSU Gospel Choir Ensemble also meets Thursdays in Brown Hall Auditorium, Room 112 at 7 p.m.
