The East Tennessean is expanding its multimedia presence with the addition of three new podcasts.

“The MountainGeek Podcast,” hosted by Hunter Davenport and Dylan Looney, will cover entertainment and pop culture. The duo’s first installment, available online now, covers topics ranging from National Guacamole Day to the Netflix/Hulu rivalry and the Demon Waffle concert last Thursday.

Davenport and Looney have been best friends since 8th grade and they believe others will enjoy their unique takes on the world of pop culture.

Another podcast will be hosted by Woodson Carpenter. Carpenter’s podcast, entitled “The Culture Curious Podcast,” will be released this week and will feature interviews with prominent members of the ETSU community. Carpenter’s first guest will be SGA President Pooja Shah.

A third podcast, featuring Executive Editor David Floyd and Opinion Editor Lindsey King, will provide analysis on developments at ETSU, including progress on the ETSU Performing Arts Center, decisions made by the Student Government Association and ETSU’s compliance with a state law that allows full-time employees to carry handguns on campus.

The podcasts will be available via the East Tennessean’s website and the newspaper’s Soundcloud account (Username: East Tennessean Podcasts).
