Now, more than ever, one thing is certain: I cannot vote for Donald Trump for President. I will proudly vote for the Republican options down the line, but I cannot vote for what is at the top of the ballot. At this point, that slot will be left blank.

These recent comments are beyond disgusting. Could you imagine some man talking about your daughter this way? Your sister? Your mother? There’s no way as a Christian that I can stand beside this candidate any longer. There’s no way as a conservative that I can stand beside him.

You see, I’m a conservative because I believe in the principles of limited government, individual freedom, and free enterprise. I am not a conservative because of any political party or any person, but rather the view of the world that I hold. I don’t see those qualities in the GOP’s nominee. Instead, I see a man with a lust for power, money, and sex. That’s not who I want to lead the greatest country in the history of the world.

For so long I have tried to swallow this pill of voting for him by saying that I was simply voting for the lesser of two evils. That I was doing what was necessary. That I was doing what had to be done. But then, I read 1 Thessalonians 5:22 — “Abstain from every form of evil.”

I will abstain from voting for Trump, Clinton, or any other candidate who does not hold the values I have. To hell with party loyalty. My values matter more than that.

I will continue to give my all every single day to those who are in need, and I will fight daily for the vision of America that I have.

We are better than this.
