The George L. Carter Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society and East Tennessee State University’s George L. Carter Railroad Museum will host a train excursion on Saturday, Nov. 12.

The non-refundable tickets must be purchased by Oct. 29. Tickets are available for anyone over the age of two but vary in price depending on the class you choose.

On Nov. 12th, the passengers will depart from ETSU’s parking lot and will arrive in Bryson City, N.C. at 10 a.m. The train will depart at 10:30 a.m. The excursion will last four hours and will make a stop in Dillsboro for passengers to visit shops and restaurants and will return to Bryson City at 3:30 p.m. The passengers will have the chance to eat in Bryson City before boarding the buses to head back to ETSU at 6 p.m and will arrive back at ETSU at 8:45 p.m.

First class seating tickets are $145 and are only available to passengers 21 and over. Tickets include lunch at a dining table, a coffee mug, a tote bag, and limited bar service.

Crown class seating includes assigned seating and large picture windows. Tickets are $120 for anyone over the age of 13 and children 2-12 may purchase tickets for $85

Coach class seating is open seating in an enclosed car with windows that may be opened. Tickets for people ages 13 and older are $96 and for children ages 2-12 are $70.

This will be a fun way to learn more about trains and to have a fun day riding in a train. Ticket order forms and liability waivers may be picked up at the Carter Railroad museum on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. or online at www.memrr.org.
