Nov. 16 – “Parallels” (ETSU Wind Ensembles Performance)
ETSU’s Wind Ensembles will perform a free concert on Thursday, Nov. 16, at 7:30 p.m. in the D.P. Culp University Center’s Martha Street Culp Auditorium. According to a press release, “In “Showcases: Parallels,” ensembles A and B will showcase a soloist each, and the literature performed will relate a parallel between each ensemble’s selections.”
Nov. 17 – Sinfonia Orchestra Performance
ETSU will host “An Evening of Chamber Music for String Orchestra” on Friday, Nov. 17, at 7:30 p.m. at Munsey Memorial United Methodist Church, 201 E. Market St. This free concert will feature works by Grieg, Telemann, Vivaldi and Albioni.
Nov. 18 – Luminosity Greyscale Performance
ETSU’s student vocal ensemble Greyscale will present a concert titled “Luminosity” on Saturday, Nov. 18, at 7:30 p.m. in the D.P. Culp University Center’s Martha Street Culp Auditorium. This concert will be free for students with ID and $10 for the public. According to a press release, “Greyscale will showcase its signature blend of pop, jazz and contemporary a cappella in this show featuring performances by the full ensemble and individuals within the group.”
Nov. 18 – Railway Museum 10 Year Anniversary
Not many ETSU students know this, but ETSU has a railway museum on campus that will be celebrating its 10th anniversary this week. The George L. Carter Train Museum will be holding an event to celebrate the anniversary. November is also National Model Railroad Month. The event is free to everyone and refreshments will be provided.
Nov. 19 – ETSU Theatre and Dance: “The Diary of Anne Frank”
This production will actually run from Nov. 16-19 in the Bud Frank Theater. Sunday’s performance will be at 2 p.m. and tickets are $5 for students and faculty with an ID and $10 general admission. Written by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett and newly adapted by Wendy Kesselman, the show is based upon the timeless and classic book of “Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl.”
