This semester, Buctainment is offering Free Movie Fridays to all ETSU students and faculty.

With two movies already down this semester, they will feature four more and are currently working out details to offer one to two drive-ins as well. Already featured were “Legally Blonde” and “Black Panther”, with a variety of different movies still to come.

“On Feb. 12 we are showing ‘Dirty Dancing’ partnering with the Student Center,” said Buctainment staff programmer Morgan Colley. “On Feb. 26 we are showing ‘Perks of Being a Wallflower’, on March 5 we are showing ‘Crazy Rich Asians’, and on March 19 we are showing ‘Inside Out’ partnering with the College of Public Health Student Center.”

These movies are all being shown in person in the D.P. Culp Student Center Auditorium, with no virtual option available. All COVID safety guidelines will be met, meaning all those interested in attending will have to wear a mask before they enter the auditorium and keep it on throughout the movie. The Buctainment staff will section off seats to ensure that those in attendance will be as safe as possible and that all social distancing guidelines are met.

Students do not have to preregister to attend the movies. However, capacity has been limited and seats are offered on a first-come-first-serve basis, so those interested should try to arrive early. Food and drinks are not permitted in the Culp Auditorium, and no refreshments will be provided.

“I am most excited about ‘Dirty Dancing,’ I really enjoy the classic movies,” said Colley. “But I am excited about all the movies and in person events we will be having this semester. I am very glad we are able to have in person events even with COVID.”

All movies will begin at 8 p.m.
