The ETSU campus in Sevierville, Tennessee, is a big deal for our school. This campus offers classes of the junior and senior level for students with a variety of different degrees, and also offers a new college experience to residents of Sevierville and its surrounding area.

What makes this off-campus building a good idea for the university as a whole is that it is located near a heavily populated area that draws thousands of tourists each year from all parts of the world. With signs pointing to the location and advertisements on some of the many billboards of Sevierville, Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, ETSU is sure to get some good exposure and publicity for campus out of this arrangement.

Sevierville is a beautiful area, and if there is a college located smack dab in the middle of it, then tourists may be attracted to attend school in our area, which will be better for the local economy.

The other colleges near Sevierville are the University of Tennessee Knoxville, which is roughly 30 minutes away and Maryville College at 40 minutes away. While UTK is a big school that may seem daunting to potential students, ETSU offers an alternative of a happy medium.

Sevierville residents really do not have many options very close to them, but if they are willing to go 30-45 minutes away for classes, then they are probably content with their options for college. While it does not make much of a difference for high school seniors attending a local college while still living at home, ETSU Sevierville is a great opportunity for more advanced students who want a good college experience near their home and families.

ETSU Sevierville also has the potential to raise business for the local shops in Sevierville. If students from surrounding areas attend campus in Sevierville, they will populate the local restaurants and coffee shops. They may even take a study break and head to one of the stores to go shopping, which is great for the local economy. All around, ETSU is sure to get more students through ETSU Sevierville, and that may have a positive impact on more than just the school and the students.
