On Sunday, Aug. 29, the Student Government Association will entertain with an outdoor concert featuring Kip Moore. The performance will be held in the Basler CPA backyard at 7:30 p.m., and the venue will open at 6:30 p.m.

The concert will feature two opening artists, Kylie Morgan and Saul Brooks. Students, faculty and staff get in free with their ETSU I.D. and can also bring a guest, as long as they are with someone with I.D. upon arrival. A clear-bag policy will be enforced. Artist merchandise, concessions and the chance to win a free t-shirt will all be provided.

“This particular concert came out of several virtual concerts, so we decided to do a pretty big artist,” Carter Warden, Director of Student Activities and Organizations, said. “We started searching when we started seeing things opening back up.”

Kip Moore is an American country music singer/songwriter who students expressed interest in seeing at ETSU last year. Due to the high volume of interest, the SGA decided to host him as the first in-person concert back on campus.

“I think a lot of people are going to come just because they’re excited to be around people, but we also planned it intentionally outdoors so it helps keep it safe,” Warden said.

This event will be held with COVID-19 prevention procedures in place to help keep not only attendees, but performers safe as well. Masks will not be required outdoors. There are plans in place to move the concert indoors if weather is unfavorable.

The Kip Moore concert will be one of two concerts held this fall, the other artist to be announced. The second concert is scheduled for October.
