ETSU is offering many opportunities to prospective students and employers this fall semester with both the Tri-Cities College Fair and the Career and Grad School Expo.

High school and transfer students can visit with over 50 regional colleges at the Tri-Cities College Fair.

The event will be held Sept. 2 in the Freedom Hall Civic Center in the morning from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. and in the evening from 6-8 p.m.

Juniors and seniors at ETSU will have an opportunity to seek out potential employers and graduate programs at the Career and Grad School Expo on Nov. 10.

“There’s tremendous advantage in attending a career fair where you can introduce yourself to employers face to face, and that will also help them remember you in the future when they are making those hiring decisions and that’s the same for graduate school as well,” said Ashly Garris, outreach and employer services coordinator for university career services.

Businesses such as Eastman Credit Union, 21st Mortgage Corporation and Nuclear Fuel Services will all be present at the event.

For students looking to get their masters, ETSU College of Business and Technology, LMU Debusk College of Osteopathic Medicine and LMU School of Business and Law will be attending.

“The career fair and career services office is here to provide opportunities for internships, so we really like to tell the underclassmen to start pursuing those because it’s not just about going to school for four years and then getting a job. You need to show your potential employer that you’ve gotten invaluable experience related to your major while you’re at ETSU,” said Garris.

Students attending the expo should dress professionally and bring printed copies of their resume or CV.
