On Sept. 13, ETSU Student Activities announced via Buc-Hub that voting for special guest performances during this school year opened up.

“The return to in-person activities this fall has been well-received, and students seem to be enjoying the variety of opportunities we’ve made available,” said Leah Adinolfi, the associate dean of students. “That said, the Office of Student Activities & Organizations is always looking for ideas and input to bring the most exciting and engaging events possible.”

With over 20 special guests on the voting list, their backgrounds varied, ranging from actors, comedians, YouTube personalities and TV and podcast hosts.

Antoni Porowski and Tan France, both known for their roles on the Netflix series “Queer Eye”, were among the options. Cody Ko, another choice, has a following of over five million subscribers on YouTube, and is known for his comedic videos.

Even “Park and Recreation” had some representation on the ballot with Nick Offerman (who played Ron Swanson) and Jenny Slate (who played Mona-Lisa Saperstein).

Sal Vulcano (“Impractical Jokers)”, Josh Peck (“Drake and Josh”), Ilana Glazer (“Broad City”) and “Saturday Night Live” stars Ego Nwodim, Chloe Fineman, Andrew Dismukes and Heidi Garner, were all listed as well.

Students are allowed to select up to five choices from the provided list, as well as a write-in option at the end.

“Once the results are in, we’ll get to work bringing these celebrities to campus for you,” the announcement read.
