On Sept. 8, The Black Affairs Association hosted an event called, “Vibe N’ Paint.” The event was an easy way for many diverse students all over campus to come out and meet new people, while showing their artistic side.

The event was a very creative start up for the Black Affairs Association. Students were able to gather together and paint whatever their hearts desired.

President of the Black Affairs Association, Dallas Halliburton said, “I feel it’s an important event because it’s giving students a chance to see that they have a safe space on campus.”

This event showed students they are not alone and there are people who feel the same way around campus, by bringing others together in a fun way to express their personality through art.

Halliburton was beyond pleased with the turnout of the event.

“This is my first year holding a leadership position, and so far it’s been an amazing experience! In the beginning, I was nervous and knew it would be a challenging position, but being able to be a part of holding an event such as ‘VIBE N’ PAINT’ is such a beautiful experience,” he said.

VIBE N’ PAINT had a huge turn out and was a fun-filled evening of jamming out to music, painting and smiling faces.

Laura Terry, Director of Programming and Outreach, said, “It was great seeing so many diverse students on campus coming all together and participating in a campus event. It shows ETSU has a great sense of unity in the student body.”

The Black Affairs Association will continue to hold student involved events in the future.

“I encourage anyone and everyone to join us and see what the BAA is all about. The more the merrier,” Halliburton said.
