Scheduled to be held on Saturday, Nov. 20, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. is the Holiday Bazaar, an event organized by the Animal Health and Science Student Organization and Operation to support Operation: Johnson Kitty. The Holiday Bazaar will be held at The Cave inside of the D. P. Culp Student Center.
The Holiday Bazaar will support this nonprofit organization, who traps, neuters and release (TNRs) community cats in Johnson City. They also pay for all medical expenses of homeless cats in the area and find them foster homes until they can be adopted.
A total of twenty-four vendors have signed up to participate in the bazaar, such as local small businesses and artisans in the community, offering their crafts to the public and any who attend. Products made from the crafts and items for sale will go to Johnson Kitty and are great for all kinds of holiday shopping.
Kyra Holt, an undergraduate student and member of Animal Health and Science said, “As the pre-veterinary organization here at ETSU, we are extremely proud to support OJK [Operation: Johnson Kitty] and all that they do for the health of our community and the betterment of homeless cat’s lives.”
The Holiday Bazaar will not only feature small businesses and artisans, but also a raffle of items donated by each vendor. There are multiple items featured, and some that will be included are jewelry, makeup, clothing, artwork, various holiday themed items and so much more for any Christmas list this holiday season.
Operation: Johnson Kitty works closely with the Washington County Animal Shelter to find forever homes for stray and abandoned cats. The student organization sponsoring this event encourages ETSU students and the Johnson City public to attend the bazaar and contribute in any way they can this Saturday.
