ETSU Housing teamed up with some of the residence halls to hold a quiet, warm bonfire night, featuring hot chocolate and candy, at Tri-Hall Field on Nov. 16. This event is part of a larger housing series on campus called Buccaneer Connections.
“Each resident hall hosts something every night of the week so that our residents always have somewhere to go if they need a break from homework or they just want to get out of their room,” said Miles Slakie, a first-year Resident Advisor for Centennial Hall.
The next Stress-Less Tuesday bonfire will be held on Nov. 30, giving residents a chance to wind down and relax before finals week. Additionally, several of the residence halls plan to have indoor lawn game nights and outdoor volleyball games.
“I think it’s nice that they are doing this every week this month,” said Alex Rucker, a Governor’s Hall resident. “It feels good to get away from studying for finals for a little bit.”
“Residence halls tend to do less as the semester goes on because residents usually have less free time to attend things,” said Bradie, another Resident Advisor.
But with the holidays just around the corner, they still plan to hold just a few more events and activities before the semester closes out.
