As students arrive back to campus to begin the spring semester, they may notice some changes and construction at the Reece Museum.
Upgrades to the museum’s main entrance, galleries and more are being completed in order to create a better experience for the ETSU community and the public when they come to enjoying all the wonders of the museum.
“Beyond the physical kind of renovation and construction that’s happening on the exterior of the building, inside we are transforming all of our galleries and spaces,” said Spencer Brenner, exhibition coordinator for the museum. “We are very excited for the upcoming calendar of exhibitions and events. The museum will be presenting three new exhibitions, and we are looking forward to welcoming the campus community and general public to visit us in 2022.”
“This renovation to our main entrance is a welcomed upgrade for the museum that will help us better serve the campus and region,” said Rebecca Proffitt for the ETSU official press release. “We are working with our campus partners to make sure we accommodate our visitors during the construction.”
The upcoming events in the Reece Museum include: “Rare Mileage: Train Collections at ETSU,” “Appalachian Dream Mechanics: Twenty Years of Art by JJ Cromer,” and “A Campus Treasure Chest: History of the Reece Museum.”
Until renovations are complete, visits to the museum are by appointment only. All accommodations will be made to ensure that each guest has a wonderful experience while viewing the art and admiring the changes being made to the museum.
The Reece Museum is located on the campus of ETSU and is free and open to the public Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Follow the Reece Museum on Facebook and Instagram for more content.
