Have an ear for music and a pen for writing?

On Feb. 5, 2022, the Birthplace of Country Music Museum in Bristol, Virginia, at 101 Country Music Way, will be hosting the Tennessee Songwriters Week qualifying round. Musicians are invited to play their individual work on Feb. 5 at 1 p.m.

Musicians who pass the qualifying round will be able to perform in one of six Tennessee Songwriters Week showcases, one of them local in Johnson City.

The prize? An amazing opportunity to play in the historic Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, Tennessee. This performance will take place on March 20, 2022, which is coincidentally during spring break, so all your friends can come watch you perform!

Even if you don’t win that first place spot, there are other prizes available to musicians including gift cards, membership into Nashville Songwriters Association International and even a guitar!

There are some specific rules, though, including you need to be playing original work. You can enter as a solo, duo or trio, but any groups over three people cannot perform together. For the official rules, visit https://www.tnvacation.com/tennessee-songwriters-sweepstakes-official-rules.

Can’t sing or write but want a taste of the music? The second round of Tennessee Songwriters Week is taking place at The Down Home on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, with the time to be announced. Make sure to support your friends in what could be their big break.
