Coffee fiends and exhausted students alike can get excited for another caffeinated drink about to hit ETSU’s campus.
The university recently announced its plans to team up with Doe River Roasters to license ETSU’s very own coffee brand that will be available on campus and nationwide. Joe Smith, director of strategic communications for the office of university marketing, has been working closely with Doe River Roasters and looks forward to having ETSU coffee available for students sometime in the near future.
“We are still in the early stages of this process. If things continue to move forward, we hope to have the coffee available later in the year,” Smith said.
Smith believes that licensing ETSU’s coffee provides a unique opportunity for the students, as well as the university’s brand as a whole.
“We feel this is a fun way to amplify the ETSU brand, and our alumni and friends here in East Tennessee and across the nation will have the opportunity to purchase the coffee once the product is available,” Smith said.
Although ETSU plans to be able to sell its coffee across the nation, the importance of working with a local business is at the forefront of their partnership. Doe River Roasters, located in Elizabethton, will provide the licensing for ETSU’s brand and lend their expertise on fresh roasts.
If there’s one thing college students know for sure, it’s that coffee is a necessity. Now, students can look forward to grabbing a cup of ETSU’s own coffee on their way to classes.
