Martin Center for the Arts welcomes Rhonda Vincent and The Rage to celebrate 40 years of Bluegrass, Old-Time, and Roots Music Studies at ETSU.
Bluegrass, Old-Time and Roots Music Studies is hosting a concert for Grand Ole Opry star, Rhonda Vincent, and her band, The Rage, on March 11. The event will be located in the Martin Center for Arts Grand Hall and will last from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The concert will be opened by ETSU’s Bluegrass Pride Band.
The concert is meant to kick off a yearlong celebration of the Bluegrass, Old-time and Roots Music Study program’s 40th anniversary.
Vincent’s bluegrass album, “Back Home Again” led to Wall Street Journal referring to her as the “Bluegrass Queen” in 2000. Her relevancy to ETSU is what led her here. Both of her children earned degrees there, as well as her son-in-law and husband.
While tickets last, they can be purchased online at https://etsutickets.com/martincenter/Online/default.asp; tickets range from $15 to $25 a piece. For more information on the event or ticket information, call Martin Center Box Office at 423-439-ARTS (2787).
