For the second consecutive year, junior Mason Mosier is SGA president, alongside Vice President, Paulina Ramirez, and Vice President for Finance and Administration, Samuel Garcia.
“I am humbled to serve as ETSU’s two-term SGA President. I owe a debt of gratitude I can never begin to pay back,” said Mosier in email addressed to the student body. “Whether you voted for me or not, I want you to know that I am fighting for you just the same.”
In this past year, Mosier, Ramirez, and Garcia collaborated to bring the largest SGA concert to ETSU in the university’s history. Furthermore, they worked to boost the Wi-Fi on campus, develop blueprints for a parking garage, propose raising wages for student workers, and much more.
Looking ahead to the next academic year, they plan to partner with alumni to ensure post-graduation employment opportunities, renovate campus buildings, and continue SGA stadium concerts, all among many others.
“We have a lot planned this year,” Mosier said in a personal statement. “From a dog park to Taco Bell, we’re listening to what the students want. We won’t forget the small things either, though. When it comes to something as simple as better Wi-Fi, less restrictions on the student experience, or helping with individual student internships, nothing is too big or small for us to fight for.”
The essence of their plan is three E’s: experience, expansion, and effectiveness. Above all, they promise to do the most they can for students.
“I’m incredibly excited to be elected as VP and work alongside our current executive team to accomplish the goals we set up for our administration,” said Ramirez. “I am also excited to work with the Senate and build a better relationship with the students, SGA, and administration.”
