The ETSU Farmers Market returns to campus this week for the fall semester on Thursday, Sept. 1. The market will be set up along the Pride Walk from 10-2 p.m. and will be held every week on Thursdays through the end of October.

The farmers market offers various vendors that sell goods such as food, crafts and local produce that all originate from the Tri-Cities area.

Carrie Patrick, the president of ETSU’s farmers market, says that having local vendors is a priority for the market.

“One thing that is unique about our farmers market is all goods sold at the market must be made or obtained within a 100-mile radius of ETSU’s campus. This ensures that everything is fresh, especially our produce,” said Patrick.

This semester, students can expect more variety in their options for produce as additional farms will now begin selling their products at the market.

“This gives students the opportunity to not only support local farmers, but also get fresh produce and meat,” Patrick stated.

In addition to fresh produce, students can expect various food trucks and craft vendors as well. Food vendors such as Eshta, Early Birds, and L’Churros offer students options for a quick and delicious lunch between classes.

For students looking for craft items, Rocky Top Rocks and Drue’s Creations offer unique works. Also, Sheek Treats offers treats for people and their furry friends, too. No matter what students are looking for, the farmers market is sure to have something to interest everyone.

“We are so excited to start our fall market season on Thursday. We encourage everyone to come out and take a look at all our vendors have to offer,” said Patrick.
