The Challenge Course will present its Open Aerial Adventure free of charge after Labor Day for the campus community.
The Basler Team Challenge and Aerial Adventure course opened during the start of the fall semester in 2016, and it has many activities for people to enjoy.
Sarah Williams, lead graduate assistant for Outdoor Adventure, explains what the high ropes course is and how the community can utilize it.
“The course is a three-tiered aerial park featuring a wide variety of obstacles,” Williams said. “In total, there are 21 different challenges spread across the three levels.”
There are also a wide variety of activities the high ropes course includes.
“The challenge course also offers a QuickFlight Free Fall Device that simulates about 20 seconds of free fall, a giant swing, the 44-foot Veterans Climbing tower that is used for climbing and rappelling, and a 280-foot dual zipline,” Williams said.
Many of these activities can be a good alternative for a workout, a good way to fight a fear of heights, or a good place to simply find a place to have fun and meet other members of the community.
“The challenge course is a great way to meet other students, gain confidence with heights, do some team or group bonding, or to just have fun with friends,” Williams said.
There are also open aerial days and other events as well, such as the Zip and S’more event on Aug. 31, or a Giant Swings and Giant Smoothies happening on Sept. 13.
The course is located at 1767 Go Bucs Trail, with parking accessible in Lot 22.
