Joseph Biddle, 78 years old, lost his battle with dementia on Oct. 26.

Biddle was an East Tennessee State University graduate, Class of 1971, and he was inducted into the Communication Department Hall of Fame in 2005.

He wrote for publications such as the the Johnson City Press, Daytona Beach News Journal, Nashville Banner and Tennessean.

Biddle covered 31 Super Bowls, 31 NCAA Final Fours, 30 Masters tournaments, 12 World Series, 2 Summer Olympic Games and a Ryder Cup plus thousands of the best college football and basketball games in the Southeast, according to an obituary posted by the Johnson City Press.

His funeral service was held on Nov. 1 at Forest Hills Baptist Church in Nashville, Tennessee.
