Based in Jonesborough, Gabriel’s Christmas store was opened in 2018 and has continued to cater to its community since then. Although labeled as a Christmas store, the shop stays open year-round, keeping its shelves stocked even when the holidays are far.

Gabe Eveland, the owner of Gabriel’s Christmas store, is originally from Asheville and only recently settled back in the area where he now shares his love for the Christmas spirit all year round.

“I call it a ‘Christmas Wonderland,’” Eveland said. “It’s a place where people can come shop and experience the magic of Christmas year-around.”

Always on top of its game, Gabriel’s Christmas store has a special way of keeping customers coming and the community well-served. Offering a diversity of décor and gifts, both holiday-themed and regular, the store flourishes all year round. The key to success, Eveland mentioned, is the collection of unique items one would not find in big box retailers and specializing in having hidden treasures.

“We thrive on local tourism throughout the year,” Eveland said. “Jonesborough is such a great place to visit with so many great events throughout the year, which really helps in keeping us busy.”

Having to sustain the business through the COVID-19 pandemic, Eveland mentioned his gratitude for his community and how, even in hard times, customers adapted and helped them grow as a store. Many of them switched to online shopping to keep giving to the store, which Eveland said was a tremendous help.

“In some ways, I think the pandemic helped us,” Eveland said. “It encouraged people to shop local and focus on their communities.”

Continuing to provide for their community, Gabriel’s Christmas store has new items every year with a new theme each time. This year, the store is also launching a Christmas box subscription service that offers an ornament of the month and curated deluxe items for your holiday needs.

Not only can these boxes serve as an easier way to decorate, Eveland says, but they can also serve as a gift to a Christmas lover in your life. Gabriel’s Christmas store also offers a festive decorating service, both residential and commercial.
