The Pi Kappa Alpha Epsilon Zeta (PIKE) chapter will return to ETSU’s campus in February following their suspension from the university in 2016.

PIKE was founded on ETSU in 1955, making it one of the oldest fraternities to be a part of the Buccaneer story. Since their suspension, chapter executives have been working with alumni and the national board to re-secure their spot on campus and rebuild the chapter in a meaningful way. They will no longer be occupying their previous house on 406 W. Pine St and are in conversation about searching for a new house on campus that will help strengthen their return.

“The office of Fraternity and Sorority Life is beyond excited to work with PIKE and give them a warm welcome back to campus,” said Zackery Sholes, office coordinator of Fraternity and Sorority Life here at ETSU.

Since 2016, the Alpha Epsilon Zeta chapter has been working to rebrand the stigma that exists nationally around the PIKE fraternity as a whole. By being more risk adverse, PIKE hopes to welcome a new round of members that will be committed to the growth and prosperity of the new chapter.

“PIKE has always held a very strong presence on campus, and the [Fraternity and Sorority Life] office is here to ensure their exponential success,” said Sholes. “I know they will continue to add to campus life and make so many new members feel right at home.”

PIKE is already hard at work planning for the future of the fraternity. Although PIKE’s expansion is happening after IFC Spring Recruitment, interested students can contact Zackery Sholes at scholesz@etsu.edu who will provide communication to chapter executives of ETSU’s newest fraternity. Alternatively, you may schedule an appointment to stop by the FSL office, located in room 214E in the Carrier Center.
