365 movies in one year. I didn’t even think I could do it. It wasn’t even a goal at the beginning of the year. But when I ended January with having watched 34 movies, I thought it might be fun to just….. Keep going.

Then one of my friends joked and said I should watch 250….and then I did by mid-October. And even then, I still didn’t think I could do it until it was the last week or so of the year and I realized I had less than 20 left. And voila! 365! Throughout the year I not only kept track through a ratings template but also a detailed Pinterest board. Each month I would do monthly awards in over a dozen categories, ranging from worst and best movie to the movie that “hurt my heart the most.”

Some might think I wasted a lot of time, and some movies definitely were a waste of time. But in reality, most of the movies were heartwarming, captivating, and taught me lessons about myself and the world. Each month I chose my favorite movie I had never seen before and today that’s what I’ll be sharing.

Disclaimer: I will not pretend to have taste nor to truly know a good movie from a bad movie. But these are the movies that truly wowed me and have still stuck with me after all I have watched.
