ETSU Esports just announced its new Smash Bros Ultimate competition schedule this season.

The Esports team at ETSU is very excited to start their first season competing in Super Smash Bros this semester. This is the first semester that Esports will participate in this game. Games started Feb. 2 and will continue until March 3. Jeff Shell, Esports head coach says they are all looking forward to competing.

“This is our first semester kind of diving into it. We’re really looking forward to supporting the existing Smash Club here on campus, so this is kind of a collaboration between us,” Shell said.

The team will compete against six schools this season and is working hard to prepare for the upcoming games. “Individual players on teams continue to work on their individual matchups for their characters. Whether that’s through participating in the weekly and monthly Smash tournaments here on campus or out in the community at large,”  Shell said.

Shell encourages students who are interested to support and watch the Esports team compete. Students can watch games live on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday nights at 7 p.m. on the Esports website for the spring season kickoff. Students who are interested can also join the Smash club team, meeting Friday nights at 6 p.m. at the Cave. Students can also support the team or find more information about upcoming games on any of the Esports social media platforms.

“A couple of the easiest ways to support us is just to check out the games,” Shell said. “I encourage anyone who’s interested to check us out and follow us on social medias. We put out a lot of content, a lot of video content and a lot of ways for people to keep up with what we’re doing.”
